Church in Bethesda is a multi-denominational, multicultural, faith community that offers a warm, inclusive welcome to everyone.
We seek to grow in faith and love with all people wherever they are on their journey. You are welcome to be who you are here, love who you love here, and explore your beliefs and values at your own pace here. From the moment you walk through our blue doors, you’ll see how we love God, each other, and our community.
We come from many backgrounds, denominations, states, and countries, including Brazil, China, Ethiopia, Gabon, Germany, India, Nigeria, and Singapore. We all love the same God, and it shows.
If you're visiting us for the first time, expect someone to say Hello. (and no, you won’t have to stand up and say your name, but you can sign our guest book and pick up a little gift).
Our historic building is located in downtown Bethesda at 5033 Wilson Lane, across from Bethesda Elementary School, near the intersection of Old Georgetown and Arlington Road.
Metro & Parking
We are an easy walk up Old Georgetown Road from the Red Line at Bethesda Station.
Free parking is available in the church parking lot or on Wilson Lane. We also have the lot directly behind the church (on DelRay Avenue) reserved for free parking (look for signs for the dry cleaners).
Nearby parking garages are on Cordell and St. Elmo, each a two-minute walk from the church and are also free on Sundays.
Before church we offer breakfast treats. CiB is a place to meet new friends and deepen the relationships that we already have.
We begin the service with music, from old hymns to the newest contemporary songs.
Each week, Ryan Phipps, our Senior Minister speaks on a variety of topics for about 15-20 minutes.
After the sermon, we celebrate Communion. Whether you go to our church, another church, or no church at all, you are welcome to participate.
Your children are dear to us. We offer free childcare (ages K-5th) during the adult worship service. Your kids will have fun playing, creating, and learning while you enjoy the service in the sanctuary.
