Day 193, Morning

Today’s morning meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

You were once in darkness, but now you are in the light of God. Live, then, as children of light and find out what God’s will is. Have nothing to do with fruitless deeds, for everything gets exposed by the light and becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light in it of itself.

This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

—Ephesians 5 (NT)

Stillness

As your day begins, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Dwelling

Read the passage again. Find a word or phrase that catches your eye or moves your heart. Slowly repeat it in your mind. Pray your thoughts, desires, needs, and feelings from your meditation.

Prayer

God of light, you call me to be a child of light, but often I live in gray-tones and shadow. Inspire me to walk each day in the bright light of your holiness. May my whole life be a song of gratitude. Amen. (BC)
