Day 211, Evening

Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne of God. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne.”

—Revelation 7 (NT)

Commentary

If you’ve been one to shy away from those who are different than you are in any way, I encourage you to seek out people and places that will stretch you. Seek out people, places and situations that will take you out of your comfort zone. There is something natural about diversity that we will never experience unless we make the effort to grow in this area.

Diversity may be something that we have to seek out while here on earth, but one thing is for sure. In heaven, seeking out diversity will be a thing of the past.

—Greg Winfield

Quiet

As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Blessing

May the God of peace, sanctify your whole spirit, soul, and body. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

—1 Thessalonians 5 (NT)
