Reading

The people served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the Lord had done.

Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of a hundred and ten. After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done.

—Judges 2 (OT)

Quiet

As your day begins, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Prayer

Gracious God, the moment I give my heart to someone or something apart from you, I’m breaking the first command, and all the others soon topple too. Keep me looking to you, honoring you with all my heart. Amen. (HC)
